NEWTRALIZING OBAMA

February 23, 2012

The cement is still wet enough to scratch my initials in, but it’s curing around my vote for Newt, March 6th.

Best Candidate:

We need a thick-skinned, sharp-toothed junkyard dog to beat the Obama/Media-Pimp/Soros/KGB/Muslim-Brotherhood complex.

Romney is such a gone-over marketing package that I see him as more package than product. Yes, he seems conservative on some issues — maybe even most — but he is SO polished and marketing-driven that I don’t think he will have a hard enough edge in debates with Obama and surrogates, and in ambush interviews with the Obamedia to keep conservatives interested and motivated, and to make a bold contrast between himself and Obama.

Santorum is a little too Mister Rogers for me, and, like Romney, he doesn’t appear to be capable of confronting Obama aggressively, and establishing the stark contrast that will make softer 2008 Obama voters think, “I voted for ‘change,’ not for ‘destruction’, and not for turning this country into a phony-baloney, socialist utopia. And that doesn’t make me a racist, it makes me willing to admit a mistake, and CORRECT IT.”

There is too a strong vein of McCain-style, smiley-face milquetoast in him, and it can come out at the worst possible moment (think Arlen Specter), letting ObamaCo make him look flatter than stale beer.

Ron Paul may be capable of the junkyard dog thing, but how can anyone be comfortable with the appallingly-large component of wackoid, hate-spewing, racist loons who are stuck to him? Most of them have more in common with Louis Farrakhan than with me.

He can’t win the election, because his foaming-at-the-mouth acolytes will alienate everyone but themselves from him, and then they will turn on each other, leaving a battered few to show up at the polls… probably on Wednesday, after they run out of pot.

If a man is known by the company he keeps, Paul is a guy who is comfortable with a live grenade rolling around in the back of his pickup truck — probably Obama’s dream opponent.

Gingrich has shown repeatedly, in the 327 Republican debates, and in multiple ambush “interviews” that he can stand up under tremendous pressure and articulate conservative principles both rationally and persuasively, even in the face of the most intense, lying, hate-filed attacks Obama and his jackals can muster. He can punch, but most importantly, he can counter-punch, hard — and that is critical.

Newt’s so-called “baggage” is all out there, and none of it matters up against the Obama baggage (make that a Chinese mega-freighter full of shipping containers dripping toxic waste) already in the public record, AND the many, as-yet-undisclosed skeletons in Obama’s closet, many of which will spill out by Fall, despite the Obamedia’s best efforts.  If Newt’s campaign goes after Obama as it should and could, the baggage will all belong to Barack.

Best President:

None of the Final Four will make an ideal, constitutionally-sound president. If that’s what you’re looking for, forget it. Now, back to reality:

Santorum and Romney are in a mushy tie, as far as being trustworthy in the Big Chair. Either of them seems capable of being persuaded to do outrageous things in “the best interest of the majority (read, “Romneycare”, and “Arlen Specter”, as above), or in some Marxist-theology-tainted religious appeal, even if those things are explicitly unconstitutional and wrong — as long as they have the right emotional hooks.

Ron Paul is a non-starter. What does his acceptance of the support of his bizarre fan base say about Paul’s judgment? Nothing that makes me want him in the White House.

Add to that, he is clearly, fatally, 180-degrees wrong about Israel and foreign policy, and the threat of Islam. That he sticks with those insane, immoral positions is all the evidence I need that he has a deep character flaw, defective judgment,  and/or a tenuous grip on reality.

Okay, Least-Bad President:

Any of them would require a continuous prod with a flaming, sharp stick, to move them toward constitutional government and away from New Deal tyranny.  I feel about 1.5% better turning my back on Newt for as long as two minutes at a time. Mitt and Rick, not for a second. Either of them could be swayed by a good sales pitch, even if intrinsically wrong, if the emotional appeal were strong enough. Paul? I shudder to think of him loose in the Commander-in-Chief’s chair, spinning and squealing, without adult supervision.

My instinct is that Newt has a hard enough core to send any pack of lobbyist jackals dressed as a sales team packing, and feeling as if they had just had their bark peeled.  I can’t say that about any of the others.

Newt is my guy, by default — at this second.

Unicorns, Moderates, Undecideds, Independents, and Other Myths

February 22, 2012

I’ve had it with the Lamestream Media (credit: Joseph Farah) and Republican big shots and their concern for these mythical voters, the Moderates, the Undecideds, and the Independents.

First of all, who the hell are these voters?

Moderates are liberals who are embarrassed to admit to their liberalism, or some of its more repugnant aspects, because they know that liberalism is out of the American mainstream, indefensible and stupid.

Undecideds – those who truly are undecided, even after the primaries and conventions – are people who are unable to distinguish up from down, good from evil (or are uncomfortable with offending evil by denouncing it publicly) and who probably should not be allowed out of their rooms without competent adult supervision, because they will be unable to determine which way to turn at the door. Why do we care what they think about the important stuff? They can’t decide which color socks to wear.

Independents – See also “Moderates,” above. These hapless individuals see themselves as above labels and party political games, and morally superior to people who use such labels. However, they are really just Moderates by another name.

The exception is the “Recovering Republicans.” They were appalled by the feckless and incompetent presidential campaigns of Bob Dole and John McCain. They are terminally annoyed with the Republican Congressional Leadership’s fondness for the intricacies of political process, and their allegiance to party unity over Constitutional principle. They are undecided which likely Republican candidate will be least likely to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

They cannot become Democrats without first having their brains removed, but can no longer support the Republican National Committee and its various surrogates, which are neither conservative nor welcoming of people who are.

The “experts” and the GOP Establishment have told us for decades that mentioning the Constitution, “social issues” (they say, “choice” — we say, “abortion”) and God will drive away these three classes of voters, and they cite surveys, routinely conducted by liberal news organizations and left-wing special interest groups (often indistinguishable) who say any attempt to articulate conservative principles will scare off these three groups like crows scattering at the sound of gunfire.

Do the experts and interest groups ever bother to find out why the members of these groups identify themselves as such? Do they even care?

Are they afraid that examining the views of these wafflers and wishy-washies in any detail would reveal them for the airheads, liberals and lefties they really are?

Of course they are. How do you think they can claim to know what these people think about the Constitution, abortion and God, except by inventing this mythical voting bloc out of whole cloth?  Are they any more credible than mystics at a séance, claiming to speak for the dead?

No. The TV talking heads, the Republican Royalty and the Republican political consultants (real, and wanna-be) don’t know who Moderates, Undecideds and Independents really are, and they are no more able to predict how they will vote (or even IF they will vote) than I am able to predict winning Powerball numbers.

It’s time to ignore Moderates, Undecideds and Independents, and the people who claim to speak for them.

Conservative issues win. Let’s try them, shall we?

WHERE ARE THE LEADERS?

June 3, 2011

Where are the leaders?

Where are the leaders – the people who can and will lead the United States of America out of the open grave we have been thrown into by the “leaders” of the last fifty years?

Where are the passionate, honest and humble men and women who know that government running every aspect of our lives is a recipe for misery and slavery?

Where are the men and women who will place themselves under the media spotlight without a crippling need for acceptance, because they understand that the media do not share, and will never share, their values?

Where are the men and women who will laugh in the faces of liberal hacks and counterfeit intellectuals with their cries of “racist” and other cheap, cowardly epithets, and call them out as the frauds and liars they are?

What follows is the speech I want to hear from a candidate who believes himself to be one of the real leaders – one who will help us to climb out of that open grave, rather than throwing in smaller shovelfuls of dirt, and telling us everything will be fine, if we just relax and embrace the darkness.

My fellow citizens:

I want to save this country. I can save this country. I need to save this country.

We are sinking into serfdom. Our government has broken the bonds the Founders wisely put on in our Constitution, and it is becoming our master, rather than our servant.

In the unending effort to buy permanent power, our government has plunged us into debt and inserted itself into every aspect of our lives.

While it pursues permanent power, our government neglects its most urgent and legitimate responsibilities. It fails at protecting the weak against the strong, and at protecting our nation against foreign and domestic enemies. It fails at protecting our rights and property against unlawful seizure and against unlawful restrictions on what we may do in and with our own property.

In fact, government has aggressively pursued the destruction of our right to own property, and to do with that property what we wish, thus rendering the right to own property nearly meaningless.

I must tell you, my fellow Americans, that once government has rendered meaningless the right to own property, we all become the property of government. The most important difference between a slave and a free person is the right to own property and to do with it, while protecting the rights of one’s neighbors, as one wishes.

I will reverse this endless expansion of government power.

I will nominate judges to the federal bench and to the supreme court, who will treat their oaths to uphold the Constitution literally. I will ask Congress to impeach judges who violate this oath.

I will pare down drastically the bloated regulatory bureaucracy that is choking off our freedom and our ability to prosper.

On my first day in office, I will fire “czars” that are unaccountable to the people and who are openly hostile to freedom, and who have no basis for authority in the Constitution.

I will ask Congress to abolish entire executive branch agencies and departments that have no basis in the Constitution, and no goal but their own self-perpetuation and expansion of influence.

The unborn, the sick and the elderly – the weakest and most innocent among us — are fortunate, these days, if we allow them to live. The fortunate survivors are those who were not killed because they were inconvenient, embarrassing, expensive, or evidence of a crime.

Our government has, instead, made these innocents legitimate prey for the predators who will make themselves rich and advance their lethal, utopian ideals by killing them.

I will sign legislation that makes abortion and euthanasia illegal under federal law, and I will speak unflinchingly to the States, from the bully pulpit that is the presidency, urging them to do the same. I will ask Congress to send me a bill that removes taxpayer dollars from any program, foreign or domestic, that funds abortion or euthanasia. I will sign that bill into law immediately, before American taxpayers can be forced to pay for one more innocent’s death.

A citizen’s life is a citizen’s property, and the right to own that property is basic, without which no other right matters. The right to life subsumes the right to choose one’s own medical care, and to pay for it as one wishes. The current level of government interference in this right is intolerable, and illegal.

I will revoke any executive orders intended to advance Obamacare, and I will consider the federal court ruling that Obamacare is unconstitutional as binding. I will immediately revoke the authority of any executive branch agency, board or other bureaucratic structure put in place by preceding administrations to support or enforce this law.

I will instruct Congress to send me legislation repealing Obamacare completely, and I will then ask Congress to begin structuring legislation that will unleash the private sector to revolutionize health care while dramatically reducing costs and increasing the range of options available to consumers.

I would expect this legislation to include a gradual transition over several years from government-funded — and government-restricted – health care for the aged and for those who are incapable for providing for themselves. Medicare must be replaced incrementally with private medical care that patients who are capable of it can pay for themselves, as medical care was dispensed for hundreds of years before this bloated, self-destructive program came into existence. The indigent and disabled must be protected, and they will be. Those who can pay all or a share of their health care costs, though, should do so.

Contrary to the lies you are being told by the Left, this does not mean my administration would throw the sick, the elderly or the indigent out in the street to die uncared for. That is a lie, and the liars know it. What the liars are not telling you, is that Medicare and Social Security are both utopian schemes that bought a lot of votes in their day, but their day is over. We simply can’t pay for them any longer.

Let me say that again: Medicare and Social Security are both about to run out of money. If we shut our eyes to this stubborn fact, Medicare and Social Security will still be out of money very soon, and our nation’s sorry financial state will soon prevent us from borrowing any more from Communist China to keep them afloat.

Tell me, my fellow Americans, what will happen to the sick when our government-driven health care system no longer has money to care for them? Rationing. It is happening now, in every country that foolishly believed it could nationalize its health care and not face the same, inevitable consequences.

Care is being withheld, and patients are being allowed to die from neglect and by the withdrawal of basic life support. They are starving and dying of thirst in their unchanged, soiled beds. If their families do not bring them food and change their linens, they lie in their own wastes and die, slowly and in great discomfort. This is the fate of those the Left is supposedly defending against their allegedly greedy, heartless critics.

Those who are so often vocal in their expressions of compassion and concern for the sick, are the liars who cannot face the consequences of their own lies. The helpless victims, however, face those consequences daily. This is what happens when government takes away the property right of citizens to care for their own lives. They become slaves.

What government gives, government can take away – including life, itself.

This nation has a history of decades of government encroachment into our lives, decades of spending money we do not have, decades of gradually surrendering our sovereignty to creditors and to those who think we should not have borders, decades of growing generations of government dependents, decades of failing to educate our citizens in basic skills, history and analytical thinking.

We cannot reverse this disastrous course overnight. But, we must begin immediately, shouldering the burden and working against the pain that will result, because if we do not change course, we will die as a nation, just as surely as the sick will die under national health care.

We must change course. And we will.

I want to save this country. I can save this country. I need to save this country.

But, I cannot do it alone. I must have your help and support. Now, and after the election, I must have your support and your trust. With your help, and with the Lord’s guidance, we will save this country. We must save this country. We owe it to ourselves and to our posterity.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for your attention. Now, let’s get to work.

May God Bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

FLATLINE — What Happens When We Can’t Afford “Free” Health Care?

Office of Health Care Resource Conservation
United States Department of Health and Human Services
Washington, DC

April 4, 2014

TO:
Thomas D. Cox
[address redacted]

Dear Mr. Cox:

Our records indicate that you are sixty-five years of age as of your last birthday. The Office has made an examination your centralized medical and financial records, as authorized by Affordable Health Care Act regulations.

This examination indicates that you have a combination of seemingly minor medical conditions that, when looked at by a computerized statistical analysis, indicate that you may be subject to one or more serious, major health conditions. Treatment of these conditions would consume valuable health care resources that are already strained meeting the needs of your fellow Americans.

Your Social Security records indicate an extensive work history. Your credit history includes several stays at vacation and recreation sites. These observations lead the Office to find that you have lived a full and successful life, and we congratulate you on your many accomplishments.

It is the  finding of this Department, with due regard for the value and potential costs of your life to the greater society, that no more than thirty days from the issuance date of this letter, you shall report to the nearest local clinic of the Office of Health Care Resource Conservation, for humane life termination.

Please bring positive identification, including a certified copy of your birth certificate, your Social Security card, and your federally-approved smart picture identification card. You should wear comfortable clothing, and leave all valuables, such as watch, wedding ring, cash and credit cards at home. If you use public transportation to get to your appointment at the clinic, your estate will be reimbursed for the expense

It is our duty to caution you against delaying your appearance at the center. Doing so will result in a warrant being issued for your arrest for contempt of government. As you may know, there is no trial afforded to anyone against whom such a warrant has been issued. All civil rights normally accorded to you by government are suspended at the time this warrant is issued, because as of the date and time of issue, you are legally deceased.

We are sure that you will make the responsible decision, and that none of the above measures will be required, saving government resources and protecting your friends and family from the personal and financial stresses of being arrested for harboring a legally-deceased federal fugitive.

Again, we thank you for your long, productive life, and we fully expect that you will cooperate in this process. Please rest assured that your remains will be disposed of in the clinic’s ultra-high-efficiency crematorium in an environmentally sound manner, with the least possible Carbon Dioxide emission.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Kathleen Sibelius

Secretary of Health and Human Services

[Note to readers — This letter hasn’t been written yet, but I expect that it will, if Obamacare doesn’t get the “mercy killing” it deserves. Thanks for reading — TC]

2010 — Last Exit Before the Obamaland Socialist Utopia

January 11, 2010

My fellow Boomers will remember the family road trips we took as kids. Those of us who grew up in urban areas and the suburbs remember marveling at how spread-out things were, Out There.

Before the Griswolds were even an idea,  billboards on deserted stretches of pre-Interstate-era, US highways warned, “Last Gas Next 150 Miles,” or words to that effect. Dad glanced at the gas gauge, and Mom took an informal poll of passengers as to how far we could tolerate going before our next bathroom break.

These days, we wonder if we will survive the grand social experiment that is the Obama era. Is there an exit from this nightmare before our freedom is gone? Are we stuck in the fast lane to a haven for foreigners who hate us and our way of life? Will our country grovel before the oil-producing dictatorships around the world, while we freeze in our homes, and other countries develop our domestic energy and sell it to us?

What will those of us collecting or about to collect Social Security do, when the money runs out? If our medical problems rise above a certain level of expense, will we be invited to visit the local suicide clinic? Will the Department of the Interior decide our retirement homes are a danger to the habitat of the Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick, and put us in the street, or will the local government decide, as in Kelo v. New London, that our homes need to be bulldozed so a pharmaceutical plant can be built there?

It may be too late already, if the aging radicals who currently run things have their way. Every illegal alien, convict, corpse and cartoon character in the world will get the right to vote in the 2010 election, if these aging hippies and Mao-worshipers get their wish. All of those new voters will automatically vote absentee as Democrats, since the Democrats will promise to give them the income, homes and cars of all those people who earned them.

Out of completely unfounded optimism, I will assume for a moment that this last step in the takeover will run into problems. Fictional characters, and residents of Cuba, Venezuela, the Gaza Strip and Iran will not get to vote in this year’s American elections.  Real people who can read and write English, understand the Constitution and do not agree that it is obsolete and irrelevant, will get to vote.

I know, it’s crazy talk, but let’s brainstorm. This applies to the Eighth Congressional District of Tennessee, (where I happen to live), but there is a similar situation near you. Find it, and deal with it.

My district has been “represented” in the US House by a self-described Blue Dog Democrat (in fact, he is credited with helping to found the Blue Dogs), John Tanner. I wrote on Center of Mass  about a “Telephone Town Meeting” Tanner had last August, which I sort-of attended, if you could call sitting at home, listening to the meeting go by, attending.

I waited through the meeting to hear Tanner address my questions, which had been submitted at the beginning of the meeting, but, of course, they weren’t answered. As he invited us to, I wrote up my questions, and emailed them to his office. I got not even an acknowledgment of receipt, and certainly no answers.

Tanner claimed to be a conservative, but it’s hard to tell from here how often he voted for the Constitutional way, and how often he caved to Comrade Pelosi when the blinds were drawn and roll call votes were not required.

Did he, like a couple of nominal Republicans in the senate, vote for the procedural steps that allowed leftist bills to advance, and then vote against them when Pelosi had secured enough votes from other Dems to be sure of passage? That way, he could come home to our district and claim, honestly, that he had “opposed” this or that anti-Constitutional power grab, or this or that confiscatory tax or regulation.

Nice arrangement, if that’s what he did. However, and this may be “damning with faint praise,” Tanner is seen by the political establishment as one of the most conservative Democrats in the House. Regardless, it’s all irrelevant.

It’s irrelevant because Tanner announced on December 1st that he has decided not to run again.

The vacuum is being filled, of course. Two Republican candidates for the primary have surfaced, with an interesting move being made by one of them.  Stephen Fincher is a farmer and gospel singer from (no kidding) Frog Jump, which is a not-necessarily-officially-incorporated community in Crockett County.

Copied directly from his “On the Issues” page is this bullet-pointed, somewhat vague list of Fincher’s positions:

STEPHEN FINCHER ON THE ISSUES

Stephen stands strong with Tennesseans on the issues:

  • Stop runaway spending in Washington that is bankrupting America’s children and grandchildren
  • Never vote to raise taxes, and I will fight to end forever the death tax and marriage penalty
  • Stop any health care plan that fails to protect America’s seniors, families and our right to make our own medical decisions
  • Protect Medicare and Social Security, and all the promises we’ve made to our seniors
  • Recruit jobs and businesses that will thrive in rural and small town Tennessee
  • Develop a comprehensive energy policy to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and grow markets for our farmers
  • Honor our veterans and keep the promises we’ve made to those who serve our country
  • Defend traditional marriage, the Right-to-Life and the Second Amendment
  • Keep America strong, safe, free and secure

[end of excerpt]

I sent an email to Mr. Fincher’s contact address on January 8th, asking for some details to flesh out the bullet points, and to see if he identifies with any of my bullet points:

I was glad to see that a Tennessee businessman with real, private sector experience is thinking of running for the seat to be left vacant by John Tanner’s resignation.

However, after visiting the “Issues” page, I still don’t know where Mr. Fincher stands on some issues of importance to me.

Some examples:

Constitutionality tests for new legislation: Will Mr. Fincher commit to vote against legislation that violates the United States Constitution?

Regulation without Representation: Will Mr. Fincher commit to supporting and voting for legislation that removes funding for federal agencies, such as (but certainly not limited to) the EPA, the BATFE or the FCC, when their regulations violate the Constitution?

Term Limits: Will Mr. Fincher commit to serving no more than two terms in the House of Representatives in a row, and will he support and vote for legislation that sets term limits?

Taxes: Will Mr. Fincher commit to supporting and voting for legislation that abolishes the IRS and the progressive income tax, and to the adoption of the Fair Tax?

That is just a start, but it is a good one. Please let me know where I can find more information about Mr. Fincher’s position on these issues.

Thanks,

Thomas D. Cox

[etc.]

Will somebody from the Fincher campaign reply, with enough specificity to convince me that Fincher is not just another plug-in Republican, but also a committed follower of the Constitution? Not as of January 11, three days later

I’m standing by.

I’d also love to know what Mr. Fincher has to say about a speech given by the namesake of his home county, Colonel David Crockett, regarding the confiscation of one man’s wealth by government, to be given as “charity” to another?

Here is a small excerpt, but the entire speech is required reading for anyone who wants to see the most common-sense argument ever made against the “redistribution of wealth”:

I will not go into an argument to prove that Congress has no power to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member upon this floor knows it. We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of the public money.

What does Mr. Fincher think about the simple but profound truth expressed in Colonel Crockett’s speech?

Stephen Fincher is not the only Tennessean to step up and state he wants this Congressional seat.

Donn Janes, another West Tennessean, navy veteran and networking engineer, has also stepped forward. Janes declared his intentions in June.

The big news about Donn Janes is that he just announced that he was separating himself from the national Republican apparatus and running as a Tea Party candidate. The text of his press release, which I received as an email, is reproduced below in its entirety:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:                                                    January 11, 2009

Contact 901-482-6705

Donn Janes announces he will run as a Tea Party Candidate; pulls out of Republican Party primary.

BRIGHTON, TN –  This past Saturday, Donn Janes, a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Tennessee’s 8th District spoke in Paris, TN, to an estimated 300 Tea Party activists from the West Tennessee area.  There he announced, As of today, I am no longer going to run for the U.S. House of Representatives as a Republican. …we need to change the way we elect our representatives. We continue to rely on the two-party system to provide us with different choices; but thanks to this corrupt system, there is little difference between the two of them. Both parties voted to increase the size of our government; both parties voted to trade your freedoms for security; and both parties are responsible for our monstrous debt, our failing economy and the exporting of our jobs overseas.  I will be running as an independent Tea Party Candidate, a candidate who doesn’t answer to or work for party leadership, but a candidate who will work for the people of West Tennessee.”

When asked about what led to this decision, Mr. Janes stated that the National Republican Party continues to aggressively support candidates who lack depth on issues and conservative values, but instead focus on candidates who are able to self fund or raise large sums of money.

During the extended question and answer portion following his speech, Mr. Janes was asked if he thought his running as an independent would split the vote. “I intend to.  I will be asking for votes from both Democrats and Republicans, many who are fed up with their party’s refusal to adhere to their respective party platforms. Over the course of my traveling within the 8th District, I believe there are enough conservative Democrats and right-minded Republicans who will enable me to win.”

Janes was asked about the Proposed “Contract From America”.  He replied, “We’ve had a ‘Contract From America’ for over 200 years.  It’s called the Constitution of the United States.  That’s the only contract we need.”

Donn first attended a TEA Party event in Memphis, TN, on April 15, 2009.  He later challenged the views of ACORN founder, Wade Rafke, at a University of Memphis Lecture.  Janes participated in a “Pink Slip” TEA Party event in Nashville on November 7, 2009, to protest the currently proposed health care legislation.  Last month he attended the FCC meeting in Memphis to challenge the expansion of its responsibilities.

Donn Janes is a candidate for the United States House of Representatives for Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District. A Navy veteran and businessman, Janes is an outspoken critic of how both Republicans and Democrats have continued to ignore any calls for fiscal responsibility, causing the United States to plunge deeper into debt.

[end of release]

I just revisited Donn Janes’s Issues page, and there is a lot more meat there than one finds so far on Fincher’s site. From browsing the whole site, I get the impression  that Janes is positioning himself as more of a Constitutionalist than the average Republican, and certainly much moreso than the average Democrat, Blue Dogs included.

I haven’t spoken or corresponded with either candidate, but as of now, having seen all I could find on the positions of both on Constitutional issues, I am inclined to vote for Janes in the primary and general elections.

The Republican establishment needs to understand that we will no longer settle for Republican candidates and officeholders who are indistinguishable from Democrats when it comes to their actions, as well as their public stances.

This may well be the last exit before the Obama Socialist Utopia. It’s where we need to get off.

Make Room for the Real Hater, Grinch!

December 29, 2009

Grab your funny hat and hit the bricks, you sick, fake-fur, green,  mangy sack o’ bones. You’re fired.

I hate to be a hater this time of year, but I am really sick (and tired) of liars, frauds and phonies, and I’m starting to hate them. The Grinch is a piker in this arena, compared with me; a lightweight; an amateur.

About ninety per cent of the pompous buffoons in the US Congress are not even one full step above a hooker, in terms of trustworthiness and honor. In fact, the streetwalkers have them beat. At least they offer something for a fee, and they usually let their customers know up front what the fee is. This congressional crowd likes to promise the moon, deliver a lump of coal, and lie about the cost. The skankiest hookers in Washington would run these clowns off their corner for ruining their reputations.

For that matter, these elected toads are no better than a Ponzi schemer, or a deadbeat relative with his hand out all the time, or a field full of hungry ticks on the first warm day of Spring… I hate ‘em. I confess. And here it is, the festive, totally secular mid-winter holidays. Tsk!

The senators from Louisiana and Nebraska took bribes in the form of sweet allocations of taxpayers’ money to vote for the advance of government-controlled health “care,” which will be neither healthy, nor caring. These two, and the others who took money for their votes, are great examples of people whose values and character make Bernie Madoff look reputable and trustworthy.

Several senators have decided to help advance this poison dart through the process by voting for it at several intermediate steps, while leaving themselves the opening to vote against it if their leaders are sure they can get it done without them. Most Democrats, and several RINOs, went for that option, which makes them even less courageous than purse snatchers who prey on old ladies, all the while whoring themselves for buckets of taxpayers’ money.

The socialist in chief is an admirer of Old Left thugs who are, in turn, worshipers of communist mass-murderers like Mao and Stalin. He is beyond shame, and most of us know that.

Some of us thought our elected “representatives” in the House and Senate still had some shadowy memory of their oath of office, and what it means, but most people who have not been in a coma for the last year know better.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

Oh, boy, talk about “mental reservation or purpose of evasion.” If senators and congressmen suddenly had to honor that oath, they would be renting U-haul trucks and filling cardboard boxes with gifts from lobbyists and photos taken with the president, this Christmas break, instead of stuffing their campaign coffers with favors from their biggest contributors and planning big-ticket fundraisers.

They would be weaving through snow-covered streets in DC on their way out of town, hoping to dodge the angry crowds of voters carrying buckets of tar and bags of feathers.

There would be so few honest senators and reps left to mind the store that they would have to turn off the lights, announce the layoffs of several hundred thousand federal employees, and go home for Christmas.

Unfortunately, none of that will happen. We have to settle for prying loose the few of these barnacles we can in 2010, and replacing them with people who will promise to remain honest until the end of their terms, and go home to their real jobs.

One third of the US Senate, the most exclusive club of self-promoting clowns and thieves in the world, and all 435 representatives, some of whom have been in office so long they probably think their children will inherit their seats, are up in ’10.

The more of these people who have to give up their royal titles and get real jobs (even though they will probably wind up at cushy university faculty jobs, or with lobbyists), the better.

There, I said it. If that makes me a hater, I can live with that. Make a hole, Grinch.

Happy New Year!

YOU’RE TOO STUPID!

October 14, 2009

For decades, the government has been telling you that you’re stupid. Are you too stupid to get tired of that?

You are too stupid to buy a car you can afford, and one that gives you and your family a chance of surviving a collision, rather than one that will crush like a paper bag because it had to lose weight to meet CAFE standards.

You are too stupid to manage your own health care. You need the government to choose your doctor, and to determine if, what, when and how you will receive medical care; and whether you and your loved ones will die because their care is too expensive, or rationed to those in a more favored political class.

You are too stupid to decide for yourself what the truth is, so government will decide who gets to use “public” airwaves to tell you what to think.

You are too stupid to buy a toilet that flushes the first time, a light bulb that doesn’t contain poisons you need a HAZMAT team to dispose of, or to set your thermostat to a comfortable temperature, just because you are the one paying the utility bills.

You are too stupid to distinguish honest expression of news and opinion appearing on the Internet from scams and lies, so government will move in, as in China, and allocate Internet access to the sources that get bureaucratic blessings.

You are too stupid to know how stupid racism is – especially of you are white, or non-white but conservative – so you need government to impose racist standards on hiring, college admissions and just about everything else.

You are too stupid to be responsible for your children’s education. You don’t have an education school degree, so you are not qualified to provide your children with moral education, let alone to home-school them. Government will provide them with all the knowledge and wisdom they need, thank you very much. And government will encourage your children to bring their wisdom home and lecture you  for not buying a hybrid deathtrap car and for running too much hot water, and for not standing whenever Barack Obama appears on TV.

You are too stupid to examine the actual positions of political candidates and decide for yourself, based on those positions, which are more qualified for office. Instead, you need government to restrict the right to run for office to members of one or the other establishment political party. “Independents” and “third parties” should get every possible obstacle thrown in their way, because you are too stupid to see their names on the ballot. The burden of choice would overload your stunted intellect, and you would be incapable of making the right decision.

You are FAR too stupid to own a firearm, because firearms, all by themselves, cause crime and suicide. You are incapable of learning which end of the gun the round comes out of, or how the unload a weapon and make it safe, or how to distinguish a home invader seconds away from crashing through your front door from your mother-in-law getting a midnight snack.

Some of us are at the end of our patience with genuinely stupid, selfish, socialist, statist do-gooders telling us we are the stupid ones.

Are you?

Hey, Senators — Like Obamacare? Lead by Example!

August 19, 2009

Despite a flurry of denials, the stubborn facts about Obamacare (formerly Hillarycare) include the following. Without limiting the expenditure of health care resources by denying care to some people, even taxing the “rich” 100% of what they make every year will not pay for a government-run health care monopoly. Even putting a $100 tax on every pack of cigarettes and on every quarter-pounder with cheese still won’t cover it.

We already know the Obama administration and the Democrats in Congress heavily favor abortion. They would mandate child sacrifice if they could get away with it, and there is no reason to believe they won’t try it, some day. They will call it mercy, but death will ensue. And Obamacare will be spared the need to care for a few million unlived lives.

At the other end of life, Obama and his appointees in charge of creating and fleshing out this “public option” (read: you get your medical care from the government monopoly, or you go without, or both, in some cases – your option) are quite fond of preaching that there is some maximum age beyond which humans have little or no value, and thus no entitlement to medical treatment, except for “palliative care,” “comfort care,” “assisted suicide,” or outright, involuntary euthanasia – what used to be called “murder.”

Yes, fellow baby boomers, our most valuable contribution to the Hope and Change era will be to die soon, at minimal cost, and with minimal fanfare.

Were you born between 1946 and 1965? Get in line. You qualify. Show up at the Josef Mengele End of Life Care Center with your picture ID and living will, and don’t worry about cab fare home. You will be joined in line by the chronically and terminally ill of all ages, as soon as their medical bills hit the preset limit.

Just one question: Will our great leaders really lead on this effort to save the “public option?” Hah. Just kidding. We already know they have no intention of allowing themselves to be subjected to Obamacare. Their health care needs will continue to be met by the best and brightest in the medical community, in the poshest and most comfortable of settings, with no expense spared.

Some of these “leaders” have confronted a life-threatening illness which can only be diagnosed and treated by the most expensive means. What if they were to lead by example? Would they volunteer to cut costs by accepting some genteel form of suicide, or “palliative care,” or would they just let the rest of us step up and make the sacrifices?

How about the members of the most exclusive club in America, the United States Senate?

According to Wikipedia, “[a]s of June 30, 2009, 1 Senator is in his 90s, 3 are in their 80s, 19 are in their 70s, 36 are in their 60s, 32 are in their 50s, 9 are in their 40s, and 0 are in their 30s.”

Their list of Senatorial birthdays includes a grand total of one – that’s right, one – member born after the baby boomer era. Forty-eight of them were born before the beginning of the boomer era. Forty-six of the 100 members of the Senate are 65 or older. If they had to live with Obamacare, some of them would not live very long.

We know about Senator Edward Kennedy’s (age: 77) life-threatening illness. Has he decided to get in line with other Massachusetts residents in similar circumstances, and begin receiving “palliative care?” I haven’t heard about it.

Senator Arlen Specter also has a life-threatening illness. How about some “comfort measures,” Senator? No? Well, you must not agree with the eugenics (Oops! Sorry, they call it “bioethics,” these days) experts in the Obama Czar Corps that your life isn’t worth as much, because of your age (79 years), as that of a 25-year-old, and thus, that you should not receive expensive medical treatment.

Former senator Joe Biden is 65, this year. Shouldn’t he step aside and let a younger man be the vice president? Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, would be next in the line of succession to be president after Biden, according to the Constitution, but she’s 69. Statistically, there are bound to be some health time bombs ticking in that Botox-riddled body. Some of them could be expensive. Shouldn’t Madame Speaker make an appointment at the Mengele Center, too?

And, how about senators Robert Byrd (91); Frank Lautenberg (85); Daniel Inouye and Daniel Akaka (both 84)? Surely, they have lived long, rich lives, and should be willing to step aside (way aside) and let younger Americans have the benefit of the medical care these Senators would otherwise receive. A little end-of-life counseling, gentlemen?

Too bad the people trying to ram socialism down our throats aren’t subject to the hideous results of their decisions. They might take the trouble to read those thousand-page bills, don’t you think?

GUN CONTROL IS PEOPLE CONTROL

August 7, 2009

This post started with some musings triggered by reading a couple of the densely-written and informative newsletters I just got as a result of joining Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (www.jpfo.org). JPFO is easily the most no-nonsense gun rights organization out there, with the possible exception of Gun Owners of America (gunowners.com), which I also respect very much. NRA has gotten fat and lazy, in my less-than-humble opinion, and has a bit too much in common with the compromisers and careerists in the Republican Party.

That aside, a slogan that may well have originated elsewhere started ringing in my head as I read the JPFO articles: GUN CONTROL IS PEOPLE CONTROL. Control, as Jews who have not succeeded in forgetting their history know, is a prerequisite to subjugation and annihilation, and a people must be disarmed to be subjugated.

Any government that wants to abridge inalienable rights, regardless of the excuse given, wants control over people. That is the nature of government. Any government that is allowed to control you will do so. I’m not just talking about banana republic dictatorships, or the Russian and Chinese super-states. The United States government is no exception. Your city or county government is no exception.

When the dumbed-down, subsidized, emasculated, rootless, amoral, dependents constitute the majority, facts and principles will no longer matter. When that critical mass is reached, perception REALLY WILL BE reality, because there will be not be enough, free people left with a voice and a rational mind that are willing or able to speak out against the lies and propaganda – the “perceptions” peddled to us by government and the compliant, government-approved media.

If the government and media can cause you to be perceived as a slave, expect to be treated like one. If you can be perceived as prey, expect to be set upon by predators. If you can be perceived as meat on the hoof, expect to be treated like somebody’s cattle. It’s just that brutally simple.

It’s time for the defenders of gun rights to stand with other advocates of “inalienable” rights – speech, press, religion, redress of grievances, property, trial by jury, due process, etc. — and to realize that the loss of any of these rights is a loss of freedom  for all of us.

A 75% turnover in the US House in 2010, tossing out incumbents, regardless of party, would be, as the joke about lawyers goes, “a good start.” All of the US Senate incumbents should fall. Only a third of the sloths in this little club of self-important buffoons is up for election every two years, but that, too, would be a good start.

This administration, with far too much groundwork laid by the Bushes and Clintons, is out to “transform” our country – into a socialist state.

In this “transformed” America, we will be allowed to vote on things that don’t matter any more than who will be kicked off the latest “reality” show, so we can claim to live in a “democracy.” The Founders intended to leave us a republic governed by laws that limited government and maximized liberty, but never mind that historical curiosity.

Meanwhile, the real, life-and-death decisions will be made by invisible, unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats. When the pretense of democracy is no longer useful, it will be abandoned, and we will have reached the last stage of the evolution of socialism: communist dictatorship.

Remember! The “transformation” of the Weimar Republic into the Third Reich was entirely democratic and legal, right up until the Reichstag Fire, when the Nazis bluffed their way into a state of emergency, and got what they really wanted: the suspension of all rights, and the acquisition of total power over the German people. The phrase, “Round up all the usual suspects!” suddenly took on real and ominous meaning for everyone not currently in favor with the Nazis.

In the unlikely event that a huge majority of incumbents can be booted from office in 2010, we still have the immense, unelected federal bureaucracy and the Obama administration and its “Czars” to deal with, so the country will still be far from secure.

The battle will only have begun, and we will enter the very dangerous period in which a regime historically has felt itself threatened, and thus becomes the most desperate of cornered animals.

That’s when things really get interesting.

Begging for Money, and Pretending to Care What Conservatives Think — The Latest RNC “Republican Party Census Document”

July 30, 2009

I’d like to thank the Republican National Committee for inspiring this post.

Yes, I got another of their “surveys,” today. They must not pay much attention to the ones people send back unless they also contain a donation, which mine have not for about a decade.

Just so the RNC knows I’m not just spouting off on somebody else’s “census,” here’s my survey’s special, secret registration number:

051680-790130

509576472

I’d give you my individually-issued “Voter District Code,” but I’d have to kill you.

I can only stand to plod through a few representative questions, because so many of them are focused on the trivial, while ignoring the monstrous. My replies, all of which go well beyond the largely meaningless “yes” or “no” options, follow each question.

Now, on to the “census document”!

ECONOMIC ISSUES

1) Should we unite as a party to oppose President Obama’s huge tax increase on the American people, particularly the new tax on dividends, capital gains and small businesses?

As much as I would like to help out those who receive dividends, et al, I am really more concerned about the free-fall path to a socialist dictatorship the Republican “leadership” has offered to Obama, by lying down and letting him and the Democrats walk over them like a cheap doormat.

This passive acceptance of socialism and wholesale violation of the Constitution (heard of it, Republicans?) got a real boost under “your” President, George W. Bush, and would have continued under McCain.

Remember the Bush prescription drug welfare program – up to then, the biggest single expansion of government spending since LBJ? Remember “No Child Left Behind,” taking an already-invalid public education system and saddling it with a huge backpack full of federal mandates and no way to pay for them? Gross negligence on securing our national borders? Micromanaging (and largely handcuffing) the military in Iraq and elsewhere? And, as a last hurrah, how about that financial sector bailout, courtesy of George W. Bush, the “compassionate conservative?”

With that for recent history, who could be surprised that Republicans in Congress have rolled over and let Obama put the wholesale government violations of the Constitution into overdrive? Has it escaped your notice, RNC,  that Obama has nationalized two auto manufacturers, and appointed 30-some “czars” – unconstitutional, unaccountable, un-vetted and unqualified in any respect other than as cronies of The One — to run nearly every aspect, of our economy and personal lives?  Why haven’t you Republicans walked out of Congress in protest, and gathered en masse on the Capitol steps to declare you would be no part of such an outrage? If you did, I missed it. The last time you showed that much backbone was during the “Drill here, drill now” campaign, which was encouraging, but oh, so brief.

DOMESTIC ISSUES

Is the Republican National Committee so morally bankrupt, cowardly, so self-serving and/or so terminally stupid that it needs to be TOLD to oppose illegal immigration, “card check,” trial lawyer welfare, a taxpayer-funded, Obama-worshiping  corps of  brainwashed, brownshirt thugs, and the “fairness doctrine” censorship program for all media, including the Internet?

Okay, that isn’t an actual question, but it should have been. Unfortunately, the short answer is, “Yes.” Over the last hundred years, it has become obvious that Republicans include a large contingent of progressives who share Woodrow Wilson’s and Barack Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s goal of weakening the United States and its fundamental principles to the point of irrelevance, so that it can be absorbed into a transnational government.

From Theodore Roosevelt right through John McCain, Republican “leaders” have been leading us over a cliff into subservience to the UN or its equivalent, by promoting a politically-driven court system, an irrelevant, emasculated legislative branch, and real power concentrated in an enormous, unelected bureaucracy.

At least, Obama was honest when he told a campaign audience in Missouri, days before the election, that he was going to “transform this country.” That is just what he is doing. He is making more of what the progressives call “progress” toward transforming the United States of America into a post-Constitution, socialist pseudo-democracy in months, on its way to becoming a communist dictatorship, than his most ambitious predecessors made in nearly a century.

The Republicans, meanwhile, grouse and pout about his methods, and wonder what will be left of the multinational corporations to which they have traded their souls for cushy lobbying jobs after they earn their cushy Congressional retirements. Will the big bucks still be there by the time they resign, or Congress is dissolved by executive order, or they are voted out of office by a contingent of ACORN thugs and illegal aliens, or…

FAMILY AND SOCIAL ISSUES

[Let me paraphrase and condense, for brevity]: Should Republicans allow Obama, Reid and Pelosi to pack the supreme court with liberal sock puppets, force taxpayers to finance abortions overseas, and allow partial birth abortion at home?

Sure, why not? Isn’t that what Republicans would have done if John McCain had accidentally won the election? And the loyal Republican base would be looking around, befuddled, wondering how this happened, and who is to blame.

HOMELAND SECURITY ISSUES

Are you (the former Republican voter, in my case) in favor of gutting the Patriot Act, and other […] laws that promote the safety and security of all Americans, blah, blah, blah?

Does it matter? We conservatives and Constitutionalists were in favor of a border fence, and it hasn’t been built. We still have the most porous border of any supposedly sovereign nation on earth, with thousands of illegals every week, including criminals and terrorists, pouring across like a continuous tidal wave.

Our Border Patrol agents are afraid to pick a place to go to lunch without the advice of an attorney, for fear of being blindsided by their administrators, or an Obama political operative. Bush gave them the back of his hand, as well. Ask former agents Ramos and Compean. Where was the RNC during that outrage?

We were adamantly and vocally opposed to laws that would allow illegal immigrants to stay and flourish on the taxpayers’ dime, and the titular leader of the Republicans was and is still promoting such laws.

Our troops are similarly hamstrung by stupid and self-defeating Defense Department policies, but the Obama administration is considering bringing the troops home to keep us in line, in the event of an emergency. What do you want to bet the civil rights hacks and community activists will be nowhere to be found when the troops get orders to bang on our doors and confiscate privately-owned firearms in some real, or ginned-up, national emergency?

Or, will that be left to Obama’s brownshirts, trained in “summer camps” at taxpayers’ expense to go out and throw their weight around, while the Republican Congressional leadership makes Elmer Fudd noises about being “vewy, vewy careful” with the civil rights of unfavored classes?

Are you in favor of air strikes against nations that harbor terrorists, and space-based missile defense?

Will any defense system ever get out of Congress without political and international law restraints so tight as to render it useless? Will Republicans care enough to do anything beyond casting safe, timid votes, and shrugging their shoulders in resignation when the Democrats bury them under procedural maneuvers? Will the Obama administration ever sign off on any air strike that doesn’t take out Israel or Taiwan? Not before consulting with Iran, Venezuela and Cuba, certainly. In other words, all questions about defense policy are moot.

FINALLY, THE INEVITABLE APPEAL FOR MONEY

I would go on, but I can’t stand it anymore. Besides, about all that’s left is the appeal for money, which was the point of the mailing in the first place. If I can’t give them $500, how about giving them $250? Hah.

Their last stand is, “However, I have enclosed $12 to cover the cost of tabulating my survey.” Shoot, if they can’t tabulate a stinking survey for a lot less than $12, they’re no better qualified to govern than the Democrats. But, we already knew that, didn’t we?

Besides, they’ll ignore the results and go with the path of least resistance anyway, so, what’s the point? I’d rather set a pile of money on fire, or spend it on a much more worthwhile cause, like buying somebody a copy of The 5000 Year Leap.

I’d buy the RNC a clue, but, talk about a waste of time and money….
